Artist Biography: Born in Karlsruhe, Germany, 1912. Moved to Z¸rich with his family in 1930. Studied in Geneva, in Paris at Grande ChaumiËre with Roger BissiËre and with Stanley Hayter; came to U.S. in 1938, worked with Hayter at Atelier 17, lived in New York, taught printmaking at Brooklyn College 1953-1954, Cooper Union 1954-1968, also at Columbia University. died in New York 12/3/1995.
