Artist Biography: Born in Kingston-on-Thames in 1749. Entered Royal Academy school in 1773 and became a landscape painter. In India and China 1784-1794 with nephew William Daniell, from which numerous paintings and sketches were made. Published Oriental Scenery1795-1808 with 144 aquatinted plates. Died in London 19 March 1840.
