Artist Biography: Born Boris IsraÎlevich Anisfeld in Bieltsy, Bessarabia on October 2, 1879.1895-1901 at Odessa School of Art. 1901-1909 Imperial Academy of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg.Connection to Diaghilev 1905-1913, when Anisfeld began to design sets for Michel Fokine.To U.S. in 1917. 1928-1958 taught advanced painting at Art Institute of Chicago. Died in New Canaan, Connecticut Dec. 4,1973.Sometimes spelled Anisfeldt.
