Artist Biography: Painter and architect, born Giulio di Pietro de Gianuzzi Pippi in Rome 1499, originally a member of Raphael's workshop. He carried out the late projects of Raphael after his death, and designed palaces in Rome until 1525 when he went to Mantua to become the Gonzaga court artist and architect.
