Artist Biography: Absract sculptor and painter. Born in St. Louis 25 May 1920, son of William von Schlegell, American Impressionist painter. Studied at Art Students League. From early 1960*s maintained sculpture studio at Ogunquit, Maine. From 1971-1990 director of graduate studies in sculpture at Yale. Retired 1990. Died in New Haven 5 October 1992.
