Artist Biography: (also Thijs Matthias) Painter and etcher of landscapes. Born in The Hague 1839, died London 1917. Eight etchings described by Zilcken, Peintres hollandais modernes, 1893 (see Curt Glasser, Graphik der Neuzeit), all very rare because few impressions could be pulled from the plates.
