Artist Biography: Born 1831 in Glasgow. Opened studio on Buchanan Street, Glasgow in 1850s. member of Glasgow Town Council 1865-1882. Provost 1877-1884. Fellow of Royal Photographic Society. Supported Photographic Convention. Published numerous articles. Died 13 July 1907.
