Artist Biography: Girolamo Francesco Maria Mazzola, called Il Parmigianino, born in Parma 11 January 1503, died 24 August 1540 in Castelmaggiore; painter, etcher, and designer of woodcuts ; in Rome from 1524-1527, then in Bologna, and from 1530/31 in Parma.~~Reference: Bartsch, Adam.
