Artist Biography: Engraver, born in LunÈville ca. 1507-20, worked in Venice and then Rome as a reproductive engraver for Salamanca and LafrÈri from about 1540 to 1565, usually signing N.B. Lot, Beatricius or Beatricetto Lotharingus. In 1562 he finished an ambitious reproduction in copper of Michelangelo's Last Judgement, and he also engraved many complex and naturalistic book illustrations, including those for Ippolito Salviani.
