Artist Biography: Il cavaliere Giovanni Girolamo Muziano or Girolamo da Brescia, or Briziano, or Musiano. Painter, born in Acquafredda near Brescia in 1528, died at Rome 27 April 1592. Came to Rome in 1548 in the company of Federico Zuccaro, and was employed by Pope Gregory XIII to decorate the Vatican and St. Peter's. Later employed by Cardinal Farnese at Tivoli, and was a founder of the Accademia S. Luca.
