Artist Biography: Born and died in Genoa. painter of miniatures, brother of Bernardo and Pietro Castello, pupil of Luca Cambiaso whom he followed to Spain. Worked on the books for the choir of the Escorial.Called Il Genovese to distinguish him from G.B. Castello, Il Bergamasco(1509-1547).
