Artist Biography: Painter, engraver and etcher; born ca. 1635 in Perugia, died in Rome 17 November 1700. Went to Rome and studied with P. Lemaire and Poussin, married the daughter of G. F. Grimaldi, became the papal antiquarian and also worked in that capacity for Christina of Sweden. Buried in S. Lorenzo in Lucina.~~Reference: LeBlanc, Charles. Manuel de l'amateur d'estampes.
