Artist Biography: Hermann-Paul was born in Paris to a doctor's family from southern France. He died in the Camargue at the beginning of World War 11. From about 1890 through the early 1930s HermannPaul was well known for his satiric characterizations of the foibles of French society and for his political concerns. His drawings were reproduced in many of the major French newspapers and periodicals and as illustrations for a wide variety of published books.
