Artist Biography: Born 13 March (Julian calendar)1864 according to his later German passport, although other Russian documents list his birthdate as 1865 and an elder brother as having been born in January of 1864) In Kuslovo. (Aleksei Georgevich Yavlensky). Left Russia in 1896. Forbidden by the eNazis to exhibit in 1933. German citizenship in July 1934. Died 15 March 1941 in Wiesbaden after long battle with arthritis deformens, a crippling arthritis.~~Reference: Jawlensky, Maria, Lucia Pieroni-Jawlensky and Angelica Jawlensky Bianconi.
