Artist Biography: Born probably in Delft in 1593. Son of the writing master Jan van de Velde I. Pupil of Jacob Matham in Haarlem. Admited to the Guild of St. Luke in 1614.1636-1641 in Enkhuizen, where he died in 1641. Catalogue RaisonnÈ by D.
