Artist Biography: Although Monnier studied in the ateliers of Anne-Louis GirodetTrioson and Baron Antoine-Jean Gros, he exhibited only once, at the Salon in 1831. A frequent visitor to London, in 1829-30 Monnier and the artist Eugene Lami published a series of lithographs entitled Voyage a Londres. Monnier was famous over his long career as an artist, illustrator, writer, playwright, and actor.~~Reference: Beraldi Vol. X~
