Artist Biography: Born in Muccleston, Shropshire.Amateur photographer in 1850*s. 1857 began photographing as a career. To India 1863. Formed partnership of Bourne and Shepherd with Charles Shepherd in Simla 1864 (2nd studio Calcutta). Returned to England 1870, retired from firm 1874. Again an amateur photographer. President Nottingham Camera Club 1892.Painted watercolors after 1896 retirement from cotton business. Died 1912.
