Artist Biography: Other names: Kishi Ryo, Hamaya Goro, Saeki Ryo, Shiryo, Utanosuke; (his artist name Ganryo is the Sino-Japanese reading of Kishi Ryo) Kishi painter; pupil, nephew, then adopted son of Kishi Ganku; like his uncle, a retainer of prince Arisugawa and attached to the imperial court; a minor follwer of Ganku, painting figures and kachoga.
