Artist Biography: Ohara Matao. Go= Koson (before 1911), Shoson (after 1911). Painter, printmaker, taught at Tokyo School of Fine Arts, adviser to Tokyo National Museum. Changed his go about 1911 from Koson to Shoson, and for many years only painted. Returned to prints about 1926.
