Artist Biography: Born in Okazani, Japan, was moved to Tokyo when five years old, died there 1946. Founder of the Creative Print movement in Japan, first to make prints entirely by himself. Traveled to Europe 1912-1916. Established the Nippon Sosaku Hanga Kyokai in 1918.
