Artist Biography: Born in Kyoto, went to live in Tokyo 1907, began making woodcuts in 1922 and showed at Japan Creative Print Society exhibitions, later also at Kokuga-kai exhibitions. One man shows 1950 in Los Angeles and 1952 in Paris; memorial exhibition traveled in Europe and American 1956. See Kodansha vol. II, plates 55, 56
