Artist Biography: Worked in mezzotint, etching, crayon manner. He is best known for engravings of flower and fruit arrangements after the works of Dutch painter Jan van Huysam. Though he completed many pure mezzotint prints, he was notable for the amount of fine-line detail he incorporated though first etching designs into the plate before rocking their surface. ~He also completed 300 plates after landscape sketches by Claude Lorraine, which were published in a two volume set under the title 'Liber Veritatis'.~, and stipple; born and died in London; checked in:J.
