In the 1980's he used cropped movie stills.~RESIDENCE: Santa Monica, California~EDUCATION:~1957 MA, 1953 BA, San Diego State College~Also studied at Otis Art Institute, Chouinard Art Institute (both in Los Angeles), UCLA, University of California at Berkeley ~TEACHING POSITIONS:~1953-1971~San Diego Fine Arts School; San Diego city schools; San Diego State College; Southwestern College at Chula Vista, California; University of California at San Diego; Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla, California; California Institute of the Arts, Valencia; Hunter College.~HONORS AND AWARDS include:~1973-1975 National Endowment for the Arts~ASSOCIATION WITH MAJOR PRINT WORKSHOPS:~-Gemini G.E.L.~-Lithography Workshop of Nova Scotia College of Art and Design~-Crown Point Press~-Cirrus Editions, Los Angleles~ONE-PERSON EXHBITIONS include:~1990-1997~-Sonnabend Gallery, New York (February 1997)~1980-1989~-Centre d'Art Contemporain, Dijon, France~-Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York~-Contempoary Arts Museum, Houston~-Galerie Stampa, Basel, Switzerland~-Ileana Sonnabend Gallery, New York and Paris (1973-1984)~1970-1979~-Cirrus Editions, Los Angeles~-The Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, Connecticut~-Artists Space, New York~-Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston~-Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands~-Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Halifax~1960-1969~-Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla, California~-Molly Barnes Gallery, Los Angeles~SELECTED GROUP EXHIBITIONS include:~1990-1997~-Thirty-Five Years at Crown Point Press: Making Prints, Doing Art, National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.
