Artist Biography: Born in Sendai, Japan, Nov.18,1885. Came to San Francisco in 1903. Moved to Berkeley in 1932. Taught at University of California, Berkeley from 1932 to 1954.Became in U.S. citizen in 1954. Died in Berkeley 8 October 1975.
