(Catalog #274, New Guinea Art: Masterpieces from the Jolika Collection of Marcia and John Friede, 2005, Volume 2, p. 127.) PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "This figure has some aspects in common with the male aripa carvings of the Ewa, but what appears to be a column of vertebrae is completely unique. The facial traits, however, have more in common with Yimam carvings. Once again, its later date sugggests it is a piece reflecting style evolution."
