Artist Biography: (none) PROVENANCE: "Jorge Camacho Collection, Paris." (Catalog #187, New Guinea Art: Masterpieces from the Jolika Collection of Marcia and John Friede, 2005, Volume 2, p. 113.) PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "This object combines human, avian, crocodile, and pig aspects into a surrealistic mélange comparable to the best of Northwest Amerindian shamanistic art. Combining man with the three most significant animal totems on the Sepik must have produced a ceremonial instrument of great power."
