PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "To my knowledge there are no other carvings which portray comparable action. The figure appears to be masked, playing both a flute and a drum. He is kneeling on a turtle and a bird rests on his head." (Catalog #86, New Guinea Art: Masterpieces from the Jolika Collection of Marcia and John Friede, 2005, Volume 2, p. 96.)
