Artist Biography: (none) PROVENANCE: "Walter Randel Collection, New York." (Catalog #125, New Guinea Art: Masterpieces from the Jolika Collection of Marcia and John Friede, 2005, Volume 2, p. 101.) PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "The Museum der Kulturen, Basel, has an almost identical example. See Kaufmann, 1980, no. 66. It was formerly in the Arthur Speyer Collection, Eltville, Germany. Another, in the Australian Museum, Sydney, was collected in Korogopa village on the Engalep tributary of the Keram River and entered the museum in 1938. See Specht, 1988: 32. The lower Sepik figure, pl. 115, was also collected in the Korogopa village."
