PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "The motif of interlacing between solid bands is very unusual and difficult to create. It is exceptionally well done on this mask. The motif refers to the caterpillar found on yam vines (Noel Mc Guigan, perosnal communication). See pl. 301 for a description of ceremonial use with yams."
