Artist Biography: (none) PROVENANCE: Jolika Collection of New Guinea Art PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "Like the bipane on the previous skull, the pig bone nose ornament, oc (otsj) or ufeti, on this one is an important headhunter's symbol. See Konrad, Konrad, and Sowada, 2002: 347, pl. 520-26; Konrad, Konrad, and Schneebaum, 1981: 148, figs. a-g; and Helfrich, 1995: 199, figs. 13.11-15 for other examples. This is the most complete and beautiful example I have ever seen." (Catalog #519, New Guinea Art: Masterpieces from the Jolika Collection of Marcia and John Friede, 2005, Volume 2, p. 175.)
