Artist Biography: (none) PROVENANCE: "Collected by Ben Tursch on Viai Island in the 1960s. Baudouin de Grunne Collection, Wezembeek-Oppem, Belgium." (Catalog #41, New Guinea Art: Masterpieces from the Jolika Collection of Marcia and John Friede, 2005, Volume 2, p. 89.) EXHIBITIONS: 1979 - Maison de la culture de Woluwe Saint-Pierre, Brussels, 1979, "Art Papou." PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "This object has flying fox heads at each end. In the 1960s Tursch collected several other two-headed dishes in the Schouten Islands. There is also a somewhat similar pigment dish from the coastal Boiken in the collection." (Catalog #41, New Guinea Art: Masterpieces from the Jolika Collection of Marcia and John Friede, 2005, Volume 2, p. 89.)
