Artist Biography: (none) PROVENANCE: "Collected by J. Viot in 1929. Robert Emile Bouchard Collection, Montreuil, France." (Catalog #562, New Guinea Art: Masterpieces from the Jolika Collection of Marcia and John Friede, 2005, Volume 2, p. 184.) PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "This spatula topped by a male figure was Douglas Newton's favorite object in the Bouchard Collection. Many lime sticks are undecorated. Those carved in the shape of a human figure were, like chisels and knives, restricted to their use (see previous entry)."
