PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "The openwork crest has been repaired. The design around the eye and on the cheek (see Newton, 1961, fig. 205 for a similar design on a mask) appears to be a local, perhaps clan-specific, style characteristic and distinguishes this mask from the eharo masks of the Elema, the eastern neighbors of the Namau. The high, almost triangular headdress is a variation within the group of eharo masks (cf. Mamiya and Sumnkik, 1982, figs. 11 and 23). See also pl. 433."
