Artist Biography: (none) PROVENANCE: Jolika Collection of New Guinea Art EXHIBITIONS: 1960 - Art Institute of Chicago, 1960, "Primitive Art from Chicago Collections." PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "The figure appears to be resting on its knees, which is an image common on the North Coast and as far east as Manam Island. This kneeling figure, however, appears to have a second pair of legs resting on the ground.
