Artist Biography: (none) PROVENANCE: Jolika Collection of New Guinea Art PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "This head has holes for attachment on the lower edges. It may have been used as a yam decoration. There are no references or comparable objects in the literature. In terms of style characteristics, particularly its elongated head, the mask relates to Wosera yam masks made of soft wood but differs in that it has the piercing at the lower edge, and is made of hard wood and hollowed out."
