Artist Biography: (none) PROVENANCE: "Serge Brignoni Collection, Bern (see [Friede catalog #137] commentary for earlier provenance)." (Catalog #138, New Guinea Art: Masterpieces from the Jolika Collection of Marcia and John Friede, 2005, Volume 2, p. 104.) EXHIBITIONS: 1970 - Musée d'ethnographie de Neuchatel, 1970. PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "See previous figure [#137] for history, general provenance, and ceremonial use. This figure was acquired by Serge Brignoni from the Historisches Museum, Bern, which had acquired several Speyer pieces. Brignoni also had a third, inferior, example of a flute figure."
