PROVENANCE: Jolika Collection of New Guinea Art
PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "The bowl was used by men only for drinking sago soup during ceremonial occasions. The motifs are related to those on ceremonial pots used for yam and taro soup (Koch, 1968, figs. 238-41). The term nangwik came from Noel Mc Guigan, personal communication, and aiak from Koch, 1968, figs. 267-68."
