Artist Biography: (none) PROVENANCE: Jolika Collection of New Guinea Art PUBLICATIONS: 2005 - "The drum has a crocodile figure as a grip. Hand drums are 'chiefly played as accompaniment to clan-specific name songs sung on various occassions such as a funeral, or the inauguration of a house or a canoe" (Kocher Schmid in Greub, 1985: 186, text no. 49)."
