Artist Biography: Granddaughter of Herman Michels (according to familya founder of Bank of California, but no confirming records at the bank). Never married. Lived and traveled for many years with her brother, also named Herman Michels. Graduate of Tamalpais High School in Marin County, California School of Fine Arts. Pupil there of Lee Randolph, Spencer and Constance Mackey, Gertrude Partington Albright. Later studied landscape with George Demont Otis.
