Artist Biography: Ray Kaiser was born in Sacramento, California in 1912. Her father worked as a Although her given name was Bernice Alexandra, when she was a child, everyone called her Ray-Ray, and that is how she came to be Ray. (Later, she legally changed her name to Ray.) After graduating from high school in Sacramento in 1931, Ray moved with her mother to New York. Married to Charles Eames.
