Artist Biography: Born In Liverpool, England 20 February 1816. Emigrated in 1818. Died in South Milford, Massachusetts 20 August 1879. Painter, sculptor, and teacher. Trained as a doctor of medicine. Self taught as an artist. Director of Cooper Institute in New York.
