Artist Biography: Name sometimes spelled Bruegel, Bruegels, or Brenghels. Born at Bruegel near Eindhoven ca. 1525. Pupil of Pieter Coeckvan Aelst.member of the guild in Antwerp 1551. In France, Switzerland and Italy 1551-1553. Moved from Antwerp to Brussels 1563. Died in Brussels 5 September 1569.~~Reference: Hollstein vol. III, pp. 253 ff. (after Pieter Brueghel)~
