Artist Biography: Painter, muralist, sculptor and lithographer. Studied in Minneapolis with Cameron Booth, and continued under Hans Hofmann in Munich, then Andre Lhote in Paris. Moved to Bay Area in 1930. Taught for 42 years at UC Berkeley, then moved to Richmond. Worked equally well in oil, watercolor, gouache and tempera. Designed and made stained glass windows for many churches in the Midwest.
