Artist Biography: Moved to CA as a small child. Attended school in Turlock, studied art at CSFA under Lucien Labaudt. Was a staff artist for the New York Herald in the 1920s and in returning to San Francisco in the 1930's, held a similar job at the Examiner which he kept for many years. Worked for the WPA thru the 1930's and was active with the SF Art Association. in 1949, he and his wife Fay moved to Marin County where he spent his remaining years. Primarily known as a watercolorist, he also worked in oil and later in his career, specialized in painting jazz musicians in acrylics.
