Artist Biography: Parisian photographer . Prizes in 1855. From 1857, active as Collard & Cie. at 53 Boulevard de Strasbourg, Paris. Invented a toning bath which gave prints a purplish-black tone and made them permanent. 1866 named photographer to Administration of roads and Bridges and moved to 39 Boulevard de Strasbourg. 1871 photographed the Commune and its barricades. 1876 series of Paris photos on albumenized paper.. From 1878 as Collard Albert, Fils at 54 Boulevard Voltaire, Paris.
