Artist Biography: Born in Buffalo. 1930. A.B. University of Buffalo 1953. 1957-1959 at studies at Mexico City College. Taught in New York area most of his life (School of Visual Arts 1963-1968, 1982-1992, Brooklyn College 1973-1992). Died in Manhattan 17 December 1998. Lived near Kenoza Lake in the Catskills (NY state). (From NY times obituary 12/23/98).~ Took his subjects from familiar aspects of city life, such as highway and automobile imagery, and for this reason his work is sometimes classified as Pop. However, his preference for economical design sometimes saw him classified as Minimalist. Reminiscent of LÈger's uses of machine imagery.~
