Artist Biography: Studied at Ohio State University, B.F.A., M.A. (1949). Noted for pioneering role in Pop art movement, which took its subject matter from mass culture. Taught at Ohio State (1946-51), New York State University College, Oswego (1957-60), and Douglass College of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J. (1960-63).
