Artist Biography: Italian engraver, goldsmith, medalist, listed in BÈnÈzit as Fagivoli and by Suzanne Boorsch as Fagiuoli. Active in Bologna and Rome from the 1530*s. Master of the mint in Bologna from 1560 until his death before 18 January 1573. Identified by Suzanne Boorsch in French Renaissance Prints from the BibliothËque Nationale de France (Grunwald Center, UCLA, 1995), p. 470 as the engraver called Master FG, who is really GF, i.e. Girolamo Faccioli or Fagiuoli.
