Artist Biography: Born Jackson, CA; died San Francisco, CA. Student of Arthur Mathews and Douglas Tilden at the School of Design in San Francisco. 1902 to Europe to study at Ecole des Beaux-Arts and Academie Julian. Remained in Europe until 1939 but regularly exhibited in San Francisco through his San Francisco representative. Returned to San Francisco, at outbreak of World War II, maintained a studio at 345 Sutter Street until his death in 1950. ~
