Artist Biography: Born April 18, 1881 in Bialystock, Russia. Died October, 1961 in Great Neck, New York. Emigrated to U.S. in 1891, and settled in New York. Studied with Arthur Wesley Dow at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn from 1898-1900. Studied in Paris at the Academie Julian in 1905. Returning to New York, he became a member of the Stieglitz group and exhibited at the 291 Gallaery in 1910.~~Reference: Rubenstein, Daryl R. Max Weber. A Catalogue RaisonnÈ of His Graphic Work.
